Michael was borne in Israel, brought up with a noticeable South African accent and manner but put through the mill in an IDF combat unit. Thus, intimately familiar with the rocky Negev desert as well as the snowy Golan Heights. Those years were the seeds of love to the nature and land of Israel.
For two decades, Michael served the Israeli hi-tech industry in the development of defense and communication systems and technology. During these years, modestly but continually developing his initial love to the land with 4x4 private tracks.
It was the feedback from friends joining the weekend tours, that sparked the initiative to open the tours to all lovers of nature and off-road 4x4 touring.
In Low Gear club was founded.
Once the members grew in numbers, the tours developed in complexity and challenge, a new quest was becoming apparent: Increasing off-road 4x4 skills. And so, The challenging off-road driving seminar was launched, expanding the extreme activities of the club.
As new members joined the club, the suggestion to find a way enabling non 4x4 owners to join activities, was voiced by members. The investment was made, a highly comfortable Toyota Land cruizer was purchased and soon enough, the club expanded to include not only Israeli 4x4 nature admirers but international participants from far off destinations an Australia, Japan, India, South Africa, South America and ofcours, USA and Europe.
Looking to the future, Michael would like to see "ambassadors of nature" across the globe, gathering in The Holy Land and sharing the unusual combination of love to nature, adrenalin and atmosphere so unique to this littel spotlight... |
